Mi TV Latino

Best IPTV app for your device

By Mi TV Latino Team · Updated on

Mi TV Latino works with any player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists. That means we do not choose the app: you do, and you can change it whenever you like without touching your account. Here are the ones actually worth using, with the good and the bad of each, and which suits which device.

First: Xtream Codes or M3U

Worth understanding before you pick an app, because it shapes everything else.

With Xtream Codes API you enter three details — username, password and server — and the app organises everything into live channels, movies and series, pulls in the programme guide and knows when your account expires. That is the good method.

With an M3U playlist you paste a single long address. It works in more places, but it usually gives you a flat channel list, with weaker categories and no guide. It is plan B, for apps that do not support the first one.

Choose Xtream Codes whenever you can. Your details, either way, are in your client area.

IPTV Smarters Pro — the most versatile

For: Fire Stick, Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Windows, Mac and many Smart TVs.

This is the one we recommend to start with and the one our guides default to. It is neither the prettiest nor the most powerful, but it is everywhere and it is set up identically everywhere: learn it once and you can set up any device in the house.

For it: exists for almost everything, supports Xtream Codes, organises movies and series well, stable. Against it: the interface shows its age and the programme guide is fine but no more than that.

TiviMate — the best on Android TV

For: Android TV, Android TV Boxes and Fire Stick.

If your device runs Android, TiviMate is a clear step up. Its programme guide is the best there is, remote navigation is genuinely designed for the sofa, and it lets you organise your own favourites lists.

For it: best EPG, excellent remote navigation, very stable. Against it: Android only. The Premium version is paid (recording, multiple playlists, multi-view), and that payment belongs to the app, not to us.

Duplex Play — for Samsung and LG Smart TVs

For: Smart TVs that will not take much else.

Widespread on Samsung and LG. You enter your playlist and it works, without fighting app stores. It is the practical option when your TV has nothing better.

For it: reaches TVs where other apps are not published. Against it: fewer settings, and on several models it asks for activation using the TV MAC address.

Others you will see mentioned

  • Smart IPTV: very stable on LG, asks for a one-off paid licence tied to your TV MAC address. That charge belongs to the app, not to us.
  • XCIPTV: a solid Android alternative if TiviMate does not win you over.
  • Smarters Player Lite: the IPTV Smarters build for the Apple world. This is what you will use on Apple TV and iPhone.
  • GSE Smart IPTV and iPlayTV: valid options on iOS and tvOS when the others are not in your App Store.

They all use the same details. Changing app does not affect your account, does not use up screens and needs no warning to us: try as many as you like and keep the one you enjoy.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay for the app? Depends which. Some are free, some have a paid version. That charge belongs to the app, not to us, and your account works the same on the free version.

Can I have two different apps at once? Yes. What counts is how many screens are watching at once: three on the standard plan, and there are four-screen plans.

Which one uses less data? They all use the same: it depends on the channel quality, not the app.

What if my app stops working? Install another and log in with the same details. Which is exactly why it pays not to depend on just one.
